The repana movement was a grouping of large landowner nobles, most famous for overthrowing Emperor Jonathan Morgan and instituting the Ochebanian Republic.

The term repana was a combination of the Eastern Common words for "republic" and "Ochebana".¹

History

Background

The movement emerged around 396 b. OW, when three powerful nobles decided they could find more power by ruling the Ochebana Empire. A number of others allied with them over time. They were all urban nobles, followers of Quirthdale's New Church, and associated with the Liberty Movement.¹

Republic Rule

The repana government had excessively little control over its people. The Southern Guard allowed them to maintain some control over the capital, but the rest of Balebu was essentially left to rule itself. The movement made no ideological development of its own; it rather disintegrated over time, as the constituent nobles lost interest in ruling.²

Imperial Restoration

General Barley Brimstone marched on Londerhome in 353 b. OW. The three nobles who remained in the Imperial Palace were executed on the spot, while a number of others were tracked down and also killed. The movement, as well as all interest in popular rule, disappeared at that moment.
