The Black Spider, also known as Lolth's Legion, was a military organization encompassing most drow houses and some sand elven houses of the Elvish Empire.

History

Origins

After Lolth took over the Spider Movement, it radicalized its ideology and grew more unified. By 4'202 b. OW, it had grown into a rigid organization under the leadership of Sizza Maer'Duth, Maal Dear'Clith, Sunn'Muo Sun'Saal, and Zaal'na Meerne. The four women were deviously intelligent, perverted by demonic influences, and able to read the actions of the Elvish Empire's ruling council as if it were an open book. To underline that they were now one powerful entity and not just a political movement, they founded the Black Spider.

Preparation for War

The organization was militarist at its core and fully expected war. To this end, it built training centers on all continents, forming a professional and unified army of 8'000 soldiers our of the former house militias. Sand elven troops joined in, happy to do some mischief. To bolster the Black Spider's infantry, magical colleges were helped to produce 500 powerful warcasters. This army was still smaller than an united force composed of all the light elven militias, but still a considerable menace to the unity of the Elvish Empire.

The ruling council eventually found the Black Spider alliance to be going too far, and made an ultimatum: they should disband their united army, demilitarize completely, and give up the worship of demons. The Black Spider's answer were five heads of the most important houses' matrons' daughters. War was on.
