DestructivismLore - Politics Canon

Destructivism

1'000 b. OW - 10 b. OW

Destructivism, also known as the destructivist movement, was a primarily orcish movement to modernize and unite the savage races of the Northern Ocean. It was generally seen as the equivalent of constructivism for the savage races.

History

Destructivism's first iteration appeared in the thalassocratic Drubark Empire. To keep their spread-out and multi-tribal empire together, Drubark officers sought to modernize and strengthen their people, forming a kind of Grakk'Uruk cult doubling as a political institution.

After a time, the movement became centralized under what was known as Urg'Neval Destructivism. The clergy of Urg'Neval, the orcish god of Strategy and leadership, on Nevhaven decided to become the "destructivist church" and pursue the ultimate goal of advancing the savage races. Nevhaven became the cultural and technological capital of the savage clans, and was instrumental in the emergence of several orcish clans such as the Treesmashers, and several savage victories such as the ogres' reaching Glacier on Litchy, which would ultimately set the starting conditions for the rise of the Bonebreakers.

The Urg'Neval Destructivists decided early to support the Boen cause, and were soon incorporated into the empire. Destructivism disappeared around the start of the Orc Wars, when most destructivists were incorporated into the shamans for the spellcasters and the Orcish Guard for the politicians and warriors; Nevhaven became an economic and religious center of the empire, but lost its destructivist vocation (though it did have huge political influence in the Northern Ocean rivalling the Boen capital).
