The conservative movement emerged during the rule of the Ochebanian Republic.

Historical Context

The republic's rule was disastrous for the Ochebanian state: domestic discord and foreign threats grew considerably. While many factions with different interests arose during this chaotic period, the conservatists hoped to maintain the state's integrity as much as possible, and preserve it from collapse both from within and from without.

Barley Brimstone

The most prominent conservatist was General Barley Brimstone, the commander of the Northern Legion. He deployed his forces northwards to try and protect the border from orcish hordes while also setting up a small military government with courts and social support system to help the population. His great maneuver of Brimstone's Fold was widely hailed as conservatism's great success.
