International tensions

The presence of chromatic dragons in the Colupan Archipelago caused great damages to trade ships and eventually led to most eastern states coming together to find countermeasures. The warfare quickly escalated into all-out dragon hunts and a desperate search for the site where dragon cults were planning to summon Tiamat, an evil dragon goddess.

History

At first, the "draconic problem" appeared only as more frequent draconic raids on eastern shipping lanes. Eventually, multiple parties came together and closed the a treaty to combat dragonkind.

The alliance mounted soldiers to hunt down dragons in their new lairs on scattered small islands, eventually discovering that an alliance of draconic cults from Dragonloss was planning to summon Tiamat, an evil dragon goddess, and essentially rule Oshmondu. The armies managed to deal serious damage to draconic outposts and eventually drack down the summoning location on Conelu.

In the epic Battle of Conelu, a huge alliance of states attacked the cultist headquarters and eventually beat them in a very destructive battle.

Aftermath

The Dragon War was not only a huge international effort, but also caused considerable historical ripples. Immediately after the Battle of Conelu, the alliance disbanded and tensions between the former allies emerged. The Dwarves looted most of the cult's treasure and thereafter stayed out of international diplomacy, embracing their policy of early unitarianism. The two eastern human states, Denise and Ochebana, established colonies in the west, at the detriment of western people who wanted to keep their territory. Disputes over unpaid loans and other problems flared up between Ochebana and Denise, leading to the start of the Eternal War.

Eastern influence on the west due to the Dragon War was very powerful. Most notably, it led to a massive revolution in the industrial and agricultural sectors, notably thanks to the introduction of eastern crops and technology. Additionally, multiple new colonial states joined the western international scene. An indirect result of the War was the establishment of Denisite Archea in the Archaen ocean.
