House ConcordanceLore - Organization Canon

House Concordance

3'932 b. OW - 3'922 b. OW

Matron Ithronel at the Zimme Anointment, 3'928 b. OW

Motto

"Peace and concordance for all elvenkind."

Notable Members

House Concordance was a primarily high and sun elven noble house on Silur, during the Elvish Wars.

Ideology and Structure

When Ithronel Yeneil founded House Concordance by uniting a high elven and two sun elven houses, she announced that House Concordance would not be a traditional house seeking to carve out its own place in elven society, but rather "a peaceful haven of unity, where elves of all races will be welcomed and well cared for. The Matron Concordance is not only the matron of her House, she is also the protector of all those that need her." As one of the largest Silurite houses, Concordance was also an important driver of unity and peace on the continent. Notably, Concordance defended the life of and welcomed into its own ranks many elves, including even sand elves and other denounced "traitors", and it was a key member of the Silurite Alliance.

It was relatively easy for an elf of any subrace to join House Concordance; to do so, they only needed the approval of a Concordance noble.

Politics

Thanks to its size and, later, army, Concordance was a major house, and its matron in fact was the most powerful council member. This gave Concordance a very powerful political position, which it used to incorporate small, weakened houses, enlarge its armed forces and form a federal army under its control, and make beneficial trade deals.

Military

At first, Concordance's armed forces were rather disorganized, and Matron Ithronel did not preoccupy herself much with forming a coherent army out of the several smaller house forces and city militias Concordance controlled; Concordance was located in central Silur and neighbored only allied houses.

Zimme's Anointment

In 3'928, the fate of Zimme's Folk caused a minor uproar in the Alliance. The fenale drow Zimme was the leader of a small group of outcasts, consisting primarily of dark elves, but also some sand elves, thanor, and other people. She had kept them safe throughout the Elvish Wars on the Litchy, and had come to the Alliance seeking refuge. Some houses, including Mystraleth, were vocally crying out for punishment in the form of exile, imprisonment or execution; they needed little more justification than the fact that Zimme was of the traitor race.

But Matron Ithronel instead invited Zimme and her warriors to her palace in Numanu00f4bar and, during a ceremony known as Zimme's Anointment, made Zimme Concordance's Hunt Master, the commander of its armed forces. This was an ideological statement, declaring that the Alliance's peace and forgiveness applied to all of elvenkind, and a cunning political move which strengthened Concordance's position and got it the direct support of the few remaining drow on Silur.

Shield of Concordance

Hunt Master Zimme was a capable commander and administrator. Under her direction, the diverse armed forces of Concordance were restructured into a potent house army. She then proceeded to organize the Alliance's growing federal army, serving as Ithronel's capable advisor and the head of her general staff. Zimme's ability was proven in the 3'922 war with Mystraleth, during which the Alliance's army defeated Mystraleth's veteran forces.

History

House Concordance was founded in 3'932 b. OW, when the high elven Houses Yeneil and Tani, as well as the sun elven House Saissan, united under Matron Ithronel. It quickly grew to become the most influential house on Silur.

With the creation of the Shield of Concordance in 3'928, Concordance soon became one of the most potent military forces on Silur, and controlled the largest coherent army, the Alliance's.

Nearly the entirety of Concordance's nobility died during the fighting in 3'922; Hunt Master Zimme was gravely wounded. As a result, the house was disbanded and split or was incorporated into new houses.
