The continent of Ancetartic was a vast stretch of continental ice located south of Oshmondu, and neighboring the Elemental Plane of Fire as well as the Great Conflagration.

Cosmology

In some cosmological theories, Ancetartic (alongside the other ice cap, Balantic) is presented as a separate plane, serving to separate the material plane from the elemental fire and water planes. However, the prevalent cosmologies consider the ice caps as an integral part, or at most a sub-plane, of Oshmondu, mostly due to their lack of a planar magic makeup distinct from Oshmondu's.

Geography

The only planar magic in Ancetartic was the field of extreme cold, which brought down temperatures inside (within a ring 50 kilometers of the outer edge, leaving a 100-km radius circle in the center out) down to -30°. It is believed the energy sapped from Ancetartic was Connected to fuel part of the Great Conflagration.

Ancetartic participated greatly to the unique maritime current makeup of Oshmondu and the Cinder Sea. Warm water streaming up from the Conflagration went west to east along Ancetartic, breaking off and melting its glaciers, "chopping them off" roughly wherever the continental base ended.
