Also called Moonbow and Jallana Joia, Sillalaulee was the goddess of the moon, the night, acquired knowledge, and moon elves. The Silver Heart was a joyful and instinctive god, one who let her ideas guide her as she strived for discovery and beauty. In Silma Fael, she created her own cave above the ground, in which intricate patterns of glowing silver lines shone down upon the smooth rock.

In the appearance of a beautiful female moon elf, Jallana frolicked around the Silmarillan realm, embellishing what she believed should be prettier and learning from what she didn't know. She was usually seen at night, the silver lines on her body dancing around as if they had a life of their own.

Worship

Jallana was beloved for the night she bestowed upon the world, and the moon and many stars she gave to shine down and brighten the ground in beautiful silver. She also represented knowledge and its acquisition, both in the form joyful exploration and wise deductions. The Moonbow might be venerated by a moon elf clan, simply because she was their patron, their inspirer and protector. Any elf in love with the night, the twinkling stars, or the shining moon could choose to pray to Sillalaulee simply because her creations were so beautiful. An elven archmage hoping to gain access to troves of knowledge could to pray to her, so that she may grant him great memory and proficiency in learning.

Jallana was traditionally worshipped in a simple prayer, typically by drawing silvery lines on one's body (which moon elves have as a birthmark) and lying on stone, or dancing beneath the moon. Just loving her was often enough for wishes to come true. Sometimes, crafting an object of great splendor, with many silver components and placed in a beautiful cave, could grant the creator long-lasting boons. Sillalaulee rewarded both the appreciation and the creation of beauty.
