The Mruggenrykz, also known as Mruggen Kingdoms and Intralu, were the continent of Intralu on Oshmondu from the fall of the Elvish Empire to the continent's invasion by Drubark orcs.
Etymology
The Mruggenrykz got their name from the mruggen, fierce bloodthirsty humanoid monsters. According to legend, Matron Mother Livrra of a drow house on Intralu copulated with her dwarven slave Burgdir, producing twelve children - the mruggen. These aberrations were released into the wild and became a predominant race in the wild lands.
The Lugsrr dwarves who became the new masters of the continent named it after its most iconic race, the mruggen. Thus came the name Mruggenrykz, meaning Mruggen-kingdoms in dwarvish.
History
Origins
Under the rule of the Elvish Empire, Intralu was a relatively civilized though frontier province inhabited by a variety of houses. But, during the Elvish Wars, civil war ravaged the landscape and led to the eventual collapse of the empire. Only a wood elven house called Silmasturel survived in the woods of Cormanthor. Very soon after the disappearance of elven civilization, mruggen arose and became the dominant feature of the landscape. Next to them, the largest civilized race on the continent became dwarves, whose root culture lied in the oldest alliance, the Lugsrr Enclaves.
Human States
In 3'251, a group of humans landed in eastern Intralu and took up residence in Rogor. Then, in 2'789, more arrived on western Arrcata, setting up Chelid there. From these two initial settlements, human society slowly grew, encroaching over more of the Mruggenrykz and imposing the dominance of civilized races over the wilderness. They developed two new Common dialects and their own culture and religion.
Over time, human settlements known as the Flowtowns popped up along the Methflow, including Chessenta in 2'012 and Maerdooth in 1'796. Notable was their development of the mayor administrative system for cities, which later became very popular in the Mruggenrykz; similar systems were developed independently by other societies. The next major leap came in 1'250 with the extensive settling of Midterra, the connection of Arrcata and Rogg-Vaasa, and the boom of human populations. Dark oak allowed for much larger and permanent buildings, while a far more extensive economy and society led to drastic cultural and technological progress.
Drubark Invasion
In 1'100 b. OW, first units of the orcish Drubark Empire landed in the southwestern Lugsrr mountains, slowly conquering the dwarven enclaves there and then suddenly moving on to overrun the entirety of the human Mruggenrykz in just two years. The Mruggenrykz era overall ended in 1'082, although some Mruggenrykz societies - mainly Thar and other dwarven states - as well as scattered mruggen remained. They were quickly wiped out, however, and the few remaining Mruggenrykz cultures disappeared with time.
