Also known as Sunshine, Sussil was the god of knowledge and the sun. He rose as the sun came up, and taught all his disciples the many things needed for life. Sussil was calm and recluse. On Silma Fael, he lived in a huge white spire with a golden roof. There, he thought and reasoned, plotting the best course for elven life and planning everything that happened to every elf, according to the sun elves.

Every morning, he flew out of his tower, chasing the night from south to north and bathing the world in light. He then returned to his spire to cogitate, and night slowly regained the lands until he chased it again. Sunshine was the god of knowledge and experience, but also foresight. He taught the educated and magical divination of the future. He was the god of day, the one who brought light for all people to bathe in. And he was god of the sun, sometimes even being equaled to the sun.

He was not at odds with Sillalaulee, who embodied the night. They were in balance, each brining half of the celestial cover over the world, although of course a moon elf would believe Jallana was labouring for the "correct" sky, whilst a sun elf sided with Sussil.

Worship

Sussil was patron of sun elves, of people wanting to see the future through any means, and of those loving the sun and the day. Elven temples to Sunshine typically consisted of multiple thin spires rising high, radiating gold and white. Anyone could think and pray in them, and libraries were often kept in one or more of the spires.

A wayfaring elf, hoping to catch a glimpse of the next day's events, might summon some sparkling lights through magic and hope to be granted a small boon by Sussil. Similarly, many prayers to the Evershining One featured bright lights.
