Dungeons and Dragons is focused on the players and their adventures. The linchpin of a campaign is always the party and the characters that constitute it. They go on epic adventures, do heroic or villainous deals, and drive the story. For a player, their character is often a persona they can identify with, with which they can immerse themselves into a secondary world and engage in the story woven by the Dungeon Master.

Character creation can be a joy or a plight. In either case, it's a very important part of the campaign.

Follow the sections below step by step to create a character. You can use standard pen and paper character sheets for the classical experience, or online tools such as D&D Beyond. Note that there might be minor discrepancies between 5e and 5eS sheets.
