Choosing a RaceRule
23.11.2021

A character's race gives them some fundamental abilities. These are, most importantly, ability score improvements and racial abilities. The most important thing to consider when choosing a race is what class you are building towards.

Note that all races featured here use the ability modifiers rule. If you choose not to use this, then select races from the Player's Handbook and other 5e resources as normal. The Compendium of Races also uses ability scores.

Racial Ability Improvements and Skill Proficiencies

A race grants only one of the listed skills. Subraces grant additional bonuses.
