> Also called dirt gnomes, these creatures live hidden in large woods. They evade incursions into their realms by large numbers, but they aid individuals and small groups.

> Animal Helpers. Forest gnomes can communicate with many of the small animals around them. Other creatures would believe these animals to be the gnomes' pets, but the gnomes consider them as neighbours. These neighbours always warn them of approaching danger, often as said danger is still miles away.

> Experts in Illusion. Forest gnomes have an innate magical ability, letting them create simple illusions. They camouflage their underground homes in this way. Creatures may walk by or even camp above a dirt gnome burrow without ever realizing there's a multitude of gnomes beneath them.

Age: You live up to 300 years.

Racial Traits

When you choose this subrace, you gain the following traits:

• Ability Improvement. Your INT and CON modifiers increases by 0.5.
• Speed. Your base walking speed is 25 ft.
• Natural Illusionist. You can cast the Minor Illusion cantrip at will.
• Forestborn. You can communicate simply with medium and smaller animals.
• Darkvision. You have darkvision to 60 ft.
• Languages. You can speak Gnomish.

When you reach 25th level, you gain this additional trait:

• Epic Racial: You may now turn invisible at will along with any equipment you are wearing or carrying, using an action. You can stop being invisible at any moment in your turn.
